Greenearth Energy Ltd. has just completed another of its larger Commercial PV Systems. This 40 kWp system has been installed on a farm in North Herefordshire. Much of the electricity generated will be used to power the farms refrigerated potato cold store.

The system uses four 10kW Fronius 3 Phase inverters. The system attracts payments under the FIT scheme and is likely to pay for itself in less than 10 years. The farmer, Mr. Bevan, will receive payments under the FIT scheme for 25 years.

Greenearth (working in conjunction with 7Y Farm Services) has secured a significant number of larger projects in Herefordshire is set to install 150 kWp each month for the foreseeable future.
The Renewable Heat Incentive - get paid for the renewable heat you produce!
Between
2011 and 2015 a budget of £850 million will be made available for this incentive that will apply to domestic, commercial and industrial projects. The incentive was announced by George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in the House of Commons as part of the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review on 20th October 2010. It covers all renewable heat technologies but the feed in tariff rates for them have yet to be "agreed" between Ministers and their civil servants

Innovations for ground mounting solar photovoltaics
This year Greenearth have designed and developed an innovative way of installing solar photovoltaic modules on the ground. The system uses recycled plastic pipe as the frame supports. This avoids the need for concrete bases as the pipes are ballasted with any available materials on site. The systems are low profile, so they have a minimal visual impact.

They can also be back filled with soil and seeded to give the impression the modules are mounted on an earth mound. These systems have been installed at a number of sites in Herefordshire this year.
New Gaia Installation
Greenearth installed a Gaia 11kW wind turbine earlier this summer near Ledbury. The turbine has been performing very well.
