Gaia 133 11kW Wind Turbine
This Danish twin blade wind turbine has proven itself to outperform other wind turbines in its class. Its ability to capture wind energy at low wind speeds leads to impressive performance figures. At average wind speeds of 5 to 6 metres per second it will generate approximately 30,000 kWh (units of electricity) per year, which is the equivalent of the electricity requirement for seven average UK homes.
It has a 13m diameter twin blade arrangement and can be mounted on 18 or 27 metre self supporting towers. It has a three phase generator and therefore can only be installed on sites with three phase grid connections.
Due to its low rotational speed (56rpm) the noise levels from the turbine are kept to a minimum.
