A log boiler, like the one above, could supply all your heating and hot water needs and save you money in the long term.
Even if you have to buy your logs, they are currently the cheapest form of fuel you can buy. It is also one of the most ecologically sound forms of renewable energy you could invest in.
Biomass - Overview
Biomass heating allows you to free yourself from the spiraling costs of fossil fuels and change to a renewable fuel with a more stable price, and which is generally considerably cheaper. Biomass fuels include logs, wood chip and wood pellets.
There are two main types of biomass system that we offer, stove systems and boiler systems. Both systems can be connected to radiator and underfloor heating and can also provide your hot water. The stove systems include
wood pellet stoves or
log stoves and they are an attractive feature in the house. The boiler systems are usually housed in a utility room or an out-house. There is a choice of
log boilers,
pellet boilers or
woodchip boilers.
Of all the technologies we offer, biomass heating has the greatest environmental benefit as heating systems consume on average 10 to 20 times more energy than everything else in your home.
Burning wood releases the CO2 that trees have absorbed during their lifetime, so it is close to being a carbon neutral process. Burning biomass typically replaces much more carbon intensive sources of energy, such as oil, gas or electricity.
