Biomass - Froling Turbomatic Chip Boiler
This top of the range woodchip boiler is fully automated, able to light itself and self clean. Ranging in size from 28 to 100kW it is suited to larger properties.
The Turbomatic runs on woodchips or pellets. The boiler is connected to a large store which has a sloping timber floor, with a rotating sweeping arm used to feed the chips into a screw extractor which in turn feeds the boiler. The store can be built to a size that suits the site and provide weeks to months worth of fuel storage.

The boiler ignites itself, based on a timer, in much the same way as an oil or gas boiler would. So it can run the property's heating or hot water at set times during the day.
Due to the boiler's high efficiency (91%) very little ash is produced. The boiler self cleans and places the ash in a bin that will need emptying over periods of weeks rather than days.
The Turbomatic uses a lambda sensor to measure the oxygen content in the flue gases so that it can control the boiler output precisely and maximise efficiency.
