biomass heating
Biomass heating is environmentally friendly and will save you money.
Burning wood releases the CO2 that trees have absorbed during their lifetime, so it is a carbon neutral process. Burning biomass typically replaces much more carbon intensive sources of energy, such as oil and gas. Heating systems consume on average 10 to 20 times more energy than everything else in your house. Changing from a fossil fueled heating system to a biomass system can save the production of many tonnes of CO2 a year.
The price of fossil fuels will almost inevitably increase as they are produced from a finite resource. The price of wood logs, chips and pellets is likely to remain stable as it is a renewable resource. Biomass heating systems are not only very environmentally friendly but in the long term are likely to save you a lot of money.
There are two main types of biomass heating systems, stand-alone stoves and wood log, chip or pellet boilers connected to central heating and hot water systems.
